I am WENDY! Named after the storyteller in Peter Pan! I love stories and enjoy creating characters who have wonderful adventures. My stories are lyrical, magical and meaningful! Writing Picture Books for Children is a source of joy and purpose.
My background is in teaching and film making. I have a husband, two grown children and two grandchildren who are a source of inspiration for my books. We all love exploring wilderness together. I am a fourth generation California native.
I thrive on creativity and strive to inspire others in fostering their imagination.

Hanna Smith
Hanna has been collaborating with Wendy since 2025! Her style is unique and the characters she creates truly bring the stories to life. Hanna is a natural for capturing emotion and her work is very expressive.
When she is not illustrating a whimsical children’s book, she might be creating an amazing mural somewhere fun!
Hanna (rhymes with “sauna”) is an illustrator and muralist based in Orange, California. She majored in graphic design from Laguna College of Art + Design and pivoted from corporate design to illustration after an inspiring trip to Oaxaca, Mexico.
